Newman Regional Health Hosts 26th Annual Teddy Bear Clinic: A Fun and Educational Event for Families and Children
Emporia, KS – Newman Regional Health is excited to announce the 26th Annual Teddy Bear Clinic, an event designed to educate children and their families about the importance of healthcare in a fun and interactive way. This year’s event will take place at the Flint Hills Mall on April 5th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The Teddy Bear Clinic provides a unique opportunity for children to learn about various healthcare topics in an engaging and friendly environment. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animals or “patients” and participate in activities that demonstrate important aspects of healthcare, including regular checkups, first aid procedures, immunizations, x-rays, and much more. It’s a wonderful chance to help young ones feel more comfortable and confident about visits to the doctor or hospital.
“This is an event that not only offers valuable health education, but also gives children the chance to ask questions, play doctor, and experience the many aspects of healthcare in a stress-free setting,” said Derek Brown, MD at Newman Regional Health. “By teaching kids early on, we hope to foster lifelong positive habits when it comes to health and well-being. Our Teddy Bear clinic not only invites children to bring their favorite stuffed animal for a special experience but also helps provide a valuable opportunity for parents to address their child’s questions and concerns about medical procedures in a relaxed and supportive environment.”
Each child who attends will receive a participant bag with fun goodies and helpful health-related information to take home.
