We want to honor the lives of those gone too soon by inviting families to participate in National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on October 15 in C of E Park, 1401 Chestnut, Emporia, KS 66801, near the pond.
6:45PM – A Speaker will provide words of remembrance

The lives of those gone too soon will be remembered and honored in a special video posted to the Newman Regional Health Facebook page on October 15, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. and shown at the event in C of E Park. If you would like to participate in the video presentation, please complete the form below and attach any photographs you would like to include. DEADLINE OCTOBER 10, 2024
Wave of Light Ceremonial Video
“When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses her or his partner, they are called a widow or widower. When parents lose their child, there isn’t a word to describe them. This month recognizes the loss so many parents experience across the United States and around the world. It is also meant to inform and provide resources for parents who have lost children due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, stillbirths, birth defects, SIDS, and other causes.
Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim the month of October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. I call upon the people of the United States to observe this month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.”
