When a serious injury occurs

Every employer takes safety seriously, but no matter how many precautions you put in place, there is still an opportunity for a serious injury or illness to affect one of your staff. If that occurs, you need to be able to trust in the fast reaction time of the Emergency Medical Services system in the area.

Newman Regional Health is the only Level IV Trauma Center in the region

Our Level IV Trauma Center has demonstrated an ability to provide advanced trauma life support (ATLS) before the transfer of patients to a higher-level trauma center.  It provides evaluation, stabilization, and diagnostic capabilities for injured patients.

  • We are equipped to provide basic emergency department ATLS protocols and 24-hour laboratory coverage.
  • We have available trauma nurse(s) and physicians available upon patient arrival.
  • We provide surgery and critical-care services.
  • We have transfer agreements for patients requiring more comprehensive care at a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
  • We have a comprehensive quality assessment program.
  • We are involved with prevention efforts and have an active outreach program for our referring communities.
